PROMOTION AND TARGETING AUDIENCES:
PROMOTION AND TARGETING AUDIENCES:
This band mainly targets the audience of Rock lovers closer to the teenage years instead of adults as they are a vaguely new band. This means they are more in tune with social media making it easier for them to garb a younger audience. They do this by promoting their albums on websites such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook (their main social media platforms). Due to the lead singer, Jared Leto, being a successful Hollywood actor, it has also helped to create a fan base for them as they are gaining support from all areas.
HARDWARE AND CONTENT
HARDWARE AND CONTENT
The band's latest album called "Live at the Roundhouse" was released on the 4th of December in 2013. This album consists of 14 songs all record from live shows. Their previous album to this was released the same year on the 17th of May and was called "Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams" which contained 12 songs. "Live at the Roundhouse" released no singles, however, "Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams" released 5. You are able to buy both of these albums on CD, however, only "LLFD" is available on iTunes. The band placed all-access passes into 12 copies of one of their albums, this then showed the bandmates' appreciation for marketing as they later revisited this by putting fans' photographs on the cover of their third album, "This Is War". To encourage audience participation, the band solicited photographs from their fans, the first 2,000 of which were used to create the album's 2,000 different covers. The band originally formed in 1998 and because there have been no new significant releases of hardware for music since the 80s therefore their music has never been repackaged for its promotion and distribution.
